D187 Students Are the Stars of the Show

Congratulations to the following first-generation students, and thank you, Lake County Foundation:

Jose Castro, a first-generation college student, is set to attend Universal Technical Institute in Lisle. He is ambitious in studying diesel mechanics, a field that will allow him to work on wind turbines and trucks, which is a testament to his spirit.

Teeahrah Orellano, another first-generation college student, moved here recently from Belize. Her family is proud of her plan to attend the College of Lake County and study dental hygiene. Her ultimate goal is to move on to BYU of Idaho to complete her nursing degree, which is a testament to her potential and determination.

Both students, Jose and Teeahrah, were deeply moved and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the unexpected gift from the Lake County Foundation. Their smiles, captured in the pictures, display the profound impact of your support. Thank you again for your commitment to North Chicago and our students.
