Alexander Elementary School held its annual Pickleball tournament. The winners are Nathan Velazquez and Azure Hudson-Terry (third grade)! During the Pickleball unit students participated in mini tourneys for each class of second and third graders to determine the best of their class. The winners of each class went on to compete in the Pickleball Championship! Second and third grade students were in attendance to cheer on their friends who participated. In the final game, a second grade team played against a third grade team. The competition was exciting… the third grade team emerged victorious!
The goal of the tournament is to teach our students good sportsmanship and to be be graceful whether they win or lose. All who participated demonstrated an appreciation for the skills of their opponents.
